Frequently Asked Question

19. We operate a private clinic and there are a number of pharmacies in the 5km radius and we would like to dispense medicines to the patients we attend, what are the requirements?

The Authority does not license private clinics for the purposes of dispensing medicines to the general public. The practitioners at the clinic are required to write prescriptions for their patients so that they can buy the medicines from surrounding pharmacies that are licensed by the Authority. These may however be clinics or surgeries that are licensed as dispensing medical practices.
